History This not-for-profit organization has its roots within the physical education/athletics department in 1948. Originally a "Fathers' Club" the purpose was and remains to provide additional support, both people power and financially to the excellent athletic programs offered to young men and women of St. Edward High School.

Funding to support athletic department needs is principally grounded in social events, operating concession sales at sporting events. The proceeds from these activities are used to finance needs in facilities and equipment not available via the Athletic Department budget.

Membership We would like to extend an invitation to everyone interested in the athletic programs at St. Edward to consider joining the Booster Club.

Membership in the Booster Club is a rewarding experience and a fine opportunity to support the students through fellowship, camaraderie and a Christian attitude. The Booster Club is diligent in its' efforts to support extra-curricular programs here at St. Edward (did you know 89% of St. Edward students participate in our sports programs?). I encourage all parents, alumni and friends of the school to support our students through membership and an enthusiastic approach to our students' quest for the complete high school experience.

Annual membership dues are $30 per family. This is your chance to make a difference and become involved with the Green Wave tradition!

For more information on membership and activities contact any Booster Club Officer or call the Athletic Office at 847.741.7536, ext. 200.

Events

  • Jim Biggins Green Wave Invitational
This golf invitational kicks off the fundraising and fiscal year for the St. Edward Booster Club. It is held around the first Monday after the 4th of July holiday. The Invitational is open to the forty four-person teams who have accepted the Club's invitation.

Format of play is an Arizona Scramble with four sets of tees, many special and unique event holes, and other competition formats during and after the round of golf.

For your donation you receive golf, cart, prizes, dinner, lunch and enjoy the Best Golf Outing in the Fox Valley area. Sponsors and foursomes are always welcome.

This event is where friends of the St. Edward family come together for a day of fun, competition and merriment.

Volunteers assist in attaining sponsors, arranging foursomes, directing volunteers, providing appropriate signage, handling funds, emceeing the event, and various other duties as needed.
  • Pot of Gold
Dinner raffle dance event normally held in the early to mid-November time frame. This event encompasses a draw-down raffle with the top winner receiving $6,000. Donations are accepted and solicited for the number balls. Balls are withdrawn from the drum and the last numbered ball drawn wins. Other winners might be announced during the draw-down based upon the funding of the event. Winners or their assigned proxy must be present to win.

Dinner and refreshements can also be included in the purchase of the numbered ball. Reservations begin in September and continue until all numbers have been reserved.

Dancing normally follows the conclusion of the draw-down raffle. The event is held off-campus.
  • Father Daughter Dinner Dance (Suspended)
A very special night for young ladies and their dads. This event is a dinner/dance held off-campus. The evening allows for young ladies to enjoy a several course meal, dancing to favorite tunes and have no one else present to please except Dad. Dads enjoy this special time with their daughters.

Booster Club coordinates the entire event...DJ, facility, meal, party favors, etc. The club works with the Athletic Department in selling tickets and collecting monies for this event.
  • Super Bowl Bonanza
This event combines an "open house" atmosphere with scrumptious and plentiful food and refreshments with your opportunity to win depending on the outcome of the quarterly Super Bowl team scores.

The event begins at 4 pm as doors to Green Wave Hall open to a football field environment and excitement. A donation secures your favorite squares and gets you a series of numbers for each quarter and the final score. A minimal donation is required for a guest.

Volunteers are needed to solicit donors for squares.
  • Steak Fry
Every winter and spring (December and May) a steak dinner is held in Don Fitchie Memorial Green Wave Hall on the first Tuesday of the month. For a minimal donation at the door you can enjoy a simmering steak cooked over fiery charcoal, sauteed onions, mushrooms, baked potatoes, salads, desserts, appetizers, and oh yes...refreshments that will knock your socks off!

Traditionally the Booster Club honors someone who has contributed to the success of the club in years past and built the foundation from which the club operates today. The evening begins around 6 pm and all are welcome..No reservations are required.

Activities include cooks, prep work in the kitchen and room set-up, clean up, MC, ticket taker at the door, and many more.
  • Clean Up Day
One day in August, normally a Saturday, the Booster Club and members of the St. Edward family get together with coaches, players and parents to beautify the grounds, buildings and surroundings of St. Edward athletic facilities. Booster Club supplies the necessary materials and some of the equipment for all to lend a hand. Other equipment is donated or brought by others. Bring enthusiasm and energy, plan to work up a sweat. Volunteers help to list what needs to be done, direct the work that day, help with refreshments, bring tools, and much more.
  • Athletic Events
Traditionally the Booster Club has coordinated the activities in support of the various athletic events held at St. Edward. The following represents an overview of events in which Booster Club provides or directs functions:
